Canberra Light Rail timetable

First visit? You don’t need a paper timetable. You need the next service for your stops — that lives on Transport Canberra / CMET. Locals: jump past the planner steps if you already use the app.

Get real times (do this first)

This guide does not publish a full clock timetable (no frozen 9:12 / 9:24 rows). Services change by day, events and works. Use official tools for your from/to stops.

  1. Open official planning tools

Transport Canberra getting-around / light rail pages, or CMET notices.

  2. Pick from and to

Example: Gungahlin Place → Alinga Street, or Dickson Interchange → Civic.

  3. Read next departures

That’s your timetable for today — including last useful services at night.

Orientation (visitors & locals)

Typical hours (orientation only)

Public material has commonly described Stage 1 along these lines — always verify:

First and last trips can differ by direction (for example, last services from Gungahlin may leave earlier than the last City departure).

Frequency feel

High-frequency rapid service — commonly about every 6–15 minutes depending on peak/off-peak and direction (confirm live timetable). Middays are usually fine for visitors without memorising a clock-face. Nights and Sundays are when you should double-check last services.

Why no 9:12 / 9:24 list here?

Frozen clock rows go stale and hurt trust. We teach you where to get today’s times instead. Official Transport Canberra and CMET pages win if anything conflicts with this guide.

Disruptions & Stage 2A works

EPIC events, City events, and Stage 2A construction can change traffic near the southern end without opening a new passenger line. Only trust bus replacements if Transport Canberra or CMET announce them.
